AWARENESS IS KEY

The key to avoid becoming a victim is to improve your awareness, The key to a heightened awareness is predicting human behaviour, this can only be done through understanding body language, unfortunately this can only be taught through intensive awareness training which is not something that can be done on a website but is available on request.

VEHICLE SAFETY

Here are some basic preventive measures which will reduce your risk:

Lock car doors at all times

Windows should not be open more than an inch when in traffic, a window slightly open makes it 4 times more difficult to smash.

Regularly check to see if you are being followed, if you realise you are being followed drive into the nearest shopping centre or filling station.

Smash and grabs are regular occurrences at traffic lights, leave a gap between you and the vehicle ahead of you at all times to assist you to escape if you need to and keep a close eye on the body language of the vendors and watch for suspicious behaviour.

HIJACK PREVENTION

Most hijackings occur at your pre-determined stops, the top 5 hijack spots are in con-sending order are :

YOUR DRIVEWAY         - BE EXTREMELY OBSERVANT WHEN LEAVING AND ARRIVING.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS           - TRY AVOIDING RED LIGHTS BY TIMING YOUR SPEED ACCORDINGLY.

SHOPPING CENTRES   - BE EXTREMELY OBSERVANT WHEN RETURNING TO YOUR VEHICLE.

STOP SIGNS                  - BE VIGILANT OF FALSE BUMPER BASHING'S.

SCHOOLS                      - IF YOU ARE EARLY TO FETCH YOUR CHILDREN, RATHER GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND MOVE AWAY                                                 FROM IT.

The information above is a very basic overview which is covered in-depth with specific modus operandi in the TBS training courses.

Hijackings occur when you are stationary at your vehicle, so anytime you find yourself in this position you need to be hyper vigilant and get moving as soon as possible.
